A game made by Anagh's World for B&W Jam and Trijam #115: The 3 hour game jam

Plot

It's 1960s, the world is Black and White. Our little friend 'Golu' has lost his way back home. Help him reach his destination.

Theme

  • B&W Jam:
    • The game only uses the colors black (#000000) and white (#FFFFFF), aka 1-bit
    • This game also follows the theme "You only realize the value of something when it's gone." - When you overlap two blocks, one block goes, then you realize that you cannot complete the game without it.
  • Trijam #115: Drag and Drop - The game uses "Drag and Drop" mechanics that are used to drag and drop the blocks.

Overview

"Path-o-Maniac" is a drag and drop puzzle game where you build a proper path using the blocks provided and help 'Golu' reach his home.

Controls

The controls are super simple. LMB (for PC) or Touch (for Mobile) to drag and drop the elements and obviously to click the buttons.

Dev Comments

  • The game difficulty is kept at minimum so that everyone can play and enjoy the game.
  • There is also a hack in the game which makes it easy to complete some of the levels much faster and using less blocks. If you find it, then please let me know in the comments. But please don't tell what the hack was, so that other's can also enjoy finding it :)

So the blocks can still interact with GOLU when they aren't placed down yet. That makes no sense.

Anyways, still fun game !

Fun entry!

I kinda broke some levels. I figured out that it's possible to drag the blocks that are already set on the level. So the last level was a walk on the park.

Find out the way to reduce the "watching..." moment and keep going. Nice job and good execution!

Really good game! Neatly thought out. Like the tension of wondering whether he was going to make it to the next push :) I liked the sound, it sounds a bit clippy though? Not sure where that comes from, but that would be my only vague criticism. Great work!

AleixFerre

Nice game overall. The player moves too slowly sometimes.

Nicely done, visually it is perfect. But the puzzles are too easy for me and the ball is too slow so i didn’t make it to the end…

If I accidentally stack two elements I cant separate them back. That’s annoying.

Really liked the “hack” !

Tail Clap Games

Great idea! Good look and feel too!

But the rolling is really slow, the time to reward is way to long because of the rolling speed.

But I think this a great little game, and you got quite far in less than 3 hours. Good job! :)

I am getting Roborally-flashbacks here. Really great entry - I love those kind of"programming" puzzle games - getting one done in less then 3 hours is pretty impressive. Smart idea to just do it with the physics engine - I am gonna steal that for another jam :)

Talking about the physics - it's a little frustrating how slow the ball rolls and sometimes you lose even though the solution is correct because the ball didn't fall right or something.
