Plot

Due to global warming, the water levels went up so high that the entire world got covered with the ocean, except for a small piece of land. You luckily reached this land using your personal chopper and now you need to survive alone. The entire world is empty!

Jams & Themes

  • Trijam #153 (Empty World)
    • The entire world is empty, except for you.
  • Mini Jam 98 (Empty)
    • The limitation was 'Make it a Roguelike', so the best what I could do is for 'Run based gameplay' - You need to continuously run to collect food & for 'Procedurally generated content' - Food and enemies are procedurally generated. If you die, you need to start all over again.
  • Godot Wild Jam #41 (Ocean)
    • Wildcard (All sounds in-game are made with your mouth) - Almost all :P
  • Wasted Resources (Don't Waste (y)our Energy)
    • The player needs to save his health/energy to survive. The more he runs to collect food, his energy goes down. He has to balance both, saving his energy and collecting food to eat.

Overview

"Empty Ocean World" is a first person 3D game where the main goal of the game is to survive. Collect food like crab and starfish that get pushed to the land from the ocean. But be careful, there are lot of jelly-fishes as well, that might sting you. You are all alone, try to survive as long as possible.

Cool idea!

If you have patience, you can basically play forever. My food level is actually above what the gauge can display (eating food doesn't deplete the gauge). I think health should have gone down faster, or food should have decayed when sitting out in the world too long. Or more obstacles to make it more difficult to get to the food.

Great entry!

Ya that is true... you can play it forever... actually I made the game in just 3 hours (Trijam rules) so there are corner cases which are not taken care off... good to know that you broke my hi-score :) ... thanks for playing!
