A semi-open world 3D game made by Anagh's World for Trijam #277, Mini Jam #162: Heat & Novice Summer Jam

This game is developed using Godot 4.2.2 which is having few issues with Web exports. I have tried my best to fix the issues in my game to make it browser compatible, like using S3 texture compression and BPTC algorithms for VRAM compression, changing the sky from a panoramic texture to a basic shader sky, etc. If you encounter any issue, then please refresh your browser and try again, sometimes it helps. If you still face the issue, then try out the Windows executable or the Android APK and also please let me know in the comments section about the issue. Linux & Mac users please use Wine to run the .exe file.
For better experience, play in FULLSCREEN and with HEADSETS.

Plot

In a small city, a notorious gang of underground wrestlers, known as the Wrestler Gang, rules the streets. Their primary business? Capturing and trading pets. Led by the ruthless Wrestler King, the gang thrives in the shadows, snatching beloved pets and selling them to the highest bidders in the criminal underworld. Anagh, a tenacious and compassionate veterinarian, becomes the unlikely hero of this tale. He sets out to rescue the pets...

Jams & Themes

  • Trijam #277 (Free space)
    • To incorporate the theme, a free space is added in the center of each level, where you can show off your dance moves. This free space has nothing to do with the game story, but is added just to incorporate the theme.
    • The game basics/prototype was made in around 3-4 hours, but the rest of the polishing took a lot more.
  • Mini Jam 161 (Heat)
    • It's summer and the heat is rising. Also, the Wrestler Gang's pet trading activity has created a lot of heat in the city
    • The limitation was 'One button, two actions'. To Incorporate the limitation, a special button 'Q' is added in the game that performs 2 actions.
      • 1. Teleports the player to the dance floor.
      • 2. Makes the player auto dance.
  • Novice Summer Jam Series 2024: Mini Jam 2 (FAILURE & OVERCOMING)
    • You will fail in the game multiple times rescuing the pets, but you need to overcome the failure and eventually rescue them.

How To Play

  • The rescue mission is divided into 5 levels. Your only aim is to rescue the pets in each level.
  • Try to stay away from the Wrestler Gang. If you get in their vicinity, they will catch you.
  • You have limited time, so try to find clocks that will give you more time to rescue.
  • The Yellow Rabbit is a friendly being, try to find him. He might lend you his 'Speed' power.
  • If you feel that the Wrestler Gang members are following you, then try to find their pet catching Van and tamper it. That will keep them busy for some time.
  • Talk to people, they might know what is going around... and don't forget to show your moves on the Dance Floor.

If you are able to complete the game, then please let me know with a winning screenshot in below comments section.

Why 3 Jams?

You might ask why I participate and submit games in multiple jams at a time. The reason is, it gives more exposure to my games and also makes it more challenging for me to develop a game based on multiple Jam themes and rules.

Reaction from the Jams:

Really fun game. Had to download it tho since the browser version didnt work too good (3 fps lmao).

"El primo" coming ot of nowhere to knock me out was a jumpscare to be honest. Got the dog but could not find the other ones lmao.

Great work for a 2 days game.

REDwithoutAdjective

It was fun, I liked the sounds, but the houses switching color made it hard to remember where the pets that I still needed to get were

This game is incredible for a 48 hour jam. I appreciated the effort which went into putting all of this together. The game was fun, very entertaining and I found moments when I was laughing out loud or scared and running for my life. I feel that the wrestlers are too fast, once they spot you it is very difficult to escape from them. I found the clocks but couldn't find the rabbit and I needed the speed boost badly.

Anagh's dancing moves are much better than his pet rescue skills. Jumping also felt buggy I wanted to jump over fences to avoid the wrestler. Ambitious 3D project! good job!

Pretty cool game, alright one complaint is that the mouse sensitivity was pretty low which made it a bit difficult traversing through the map, other than that, you did a great job!

Well, I tested the executable version...  And that was a pretty impressive example of dedication for such a short game jam! It is an amazingly ambitious game that deserves a lot of attention.

What I would advise:

- Set the jump height to be a lot higher, so we can jump over fences.

- Add some kind of transition screens between levels.

- Increase the camera turning speed.

- Most importantly, even though you must be focusing mostly on the code aspect of game development, maybe try to make everything yourself and lower the scale of the project.

There was a lot of great ideas but knowing that so much was borrowed from many different websites made me feel like the game was a bit messy in its scenario, even though this gives it a hilarious aspect! Especially the kick to open the door which felt really good!

You put that well together, have a nice day!
